Here are a few shots of Zoe, some with the cat Pugsley and others of her working in Basquiat style on an original crayon-on-high chair mixed media piece.

Zoe went to Philadelphia last weekend, but unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of her. I do have this one shot of her getting ready to brave the elements.
This week we're in the process of adopting one of the stray cats that was hanging around the back yard. Assuming Pugsley and Wednesday are able to get along with her, she'll be unpacking her bags shortly. Here are a couple of shots of the new cat, as well as one pic each of Pugsley and Wednesday (lest they feel neglected).
We went to Saratoga Springs for this year's World Fantasy Convention. Zoe spent much of the weekend listening to people tell her how cute and precious she is. (The praise didn't seem to go to her head.) Here are the few shots of her that I took, but I'm hoping I'll get some photos from other people. She's dressed up in some pix because she got decked out for the award banquet, where she behaved very well.

Here are a few mediocre shots I snapped this week. If you look closely, you'll see that Zoe has a shiner on her right eye. That was due to an unfortunate run-in with a hardwood floor.
There's a short and not-very-good video of Zoe watching the nightly news here:

We took Zoe to the zoo over Labor Day weekend. She's still a bit too young to appreciate the joys of the Children's Zoo, but she enjoyed seeing the animals. We didn't get many good shots, but here's what we got.
Zoe had a wonderful time in Missouri visiting her cousins, including Zeka the guinea pig (aka "cat"). She particularly enjoyed the foop chair and learning to shake with Uncle Russell.
I didn't get many pics, but at least I got a couple of the sculpture garden.
I found the camera I misplaced after our trip to Massachusetts and here's a new batch of pics showing the young lady surveying her wardrobe, learning phone skills (I believe this shot will be the first of many of Zoe on the phone), and decorating her abode. The "Pebbles Flintstone" look in a few pictures is courtesy of Francine at the Day Care center. And yes, Uncle Russell and Aunt Leslie, the throne on which Zoe is sitting is that throne. Grandpa would be pleased.
Just for fun, I included two pictures of Zoe from exactly a year ago (they're the shots of her in orange, in case you can't tell).
Oh, there's a new video on Youtube here:

Here are a few shots I just happened to take the other morning. Zoe's not really walking on her own yet, but she loves standing and cruising along the furniture.

The annual pilgrimmage to Coney Island was last month (on account of Uncle Russell and Aunt Suzie being in town) but I'm only now getting around to posting the pics. That's Cousin Rachel in the first shot, for those of you who don't know. And the mob in pic #4 . . . well, I'm not sure, but I think it might be an early version of the annual Mermaid Parade.
Zoe's bib in picture #12 really says it all. (Thank you, Cousin Rich, for the last seven shots in this batch.)
Zoe celebrated her first birthday with her first cake---and you'll see in the videos that she sends her compliments to Entemann's chef. Here are the links:

Be sure to look closely at her reading material in picture #8.
Cousin Caren couldn't visit today, so here are a bunch of pictures just for her. Once Zoe can speak intelligibly, she'll thank Leslie H. for the great outfit.
Is it just me or does Zoe's expression in picture #2 make her resemble the Grinch?
Here she is at the eleven month mark and while she's not walking yet, Zoe is standing on her own two feet. She's also developing quite a taste for vegetables, crawling all over the place, and babbling in a manner that sounds like speech.
Zoe got a new toy today, a rocker that will later change to become a car she can ride around on herself. (She's also got a fire engine compliments of her amigos in Des Peres.) She isn't walking yet, but she pulls herself up to a standing position all the time and occasionally chews on the top rail of the crib.
She also seems to understand instinctively what a camera does and always puts on a funny expression when we point a camera at her.
You can just tell from pictures #1 and #2 that it won't be long before she's telling Daddy to get out of her spotlight (and with good reason, too!). Perhaps the folks at PARENTING magazine will see photo #6 and use it in future subscription drives.
